barnnews05172008The May Long Weekend was an eye opener here at the Barn.
So many great people joined us for the beginning of our 22nd season. The Good Sams from Lethbridge were here in force with a couple of rookies in tow. What great people. The Johnsons had some of their exchange students here with them. Our great friends the Sieger Family were all down from Calgary for a weekend of fun. We had a great group from Brooks here and the definately ate their share of beef. lol We want to thank the Posts for bringing them all down.  The Gouldings, the Stitts, the Gmitters, the Skinners, the Stodgells, the Ritchies the Penleys and a whole lot more took in the weekend. We served over 200 dinners on Saturday night and 85 dinner on Friday for the Dinner Show. We want to thank everyone who came for their continued support and a special thank you to all the newcomers. Hopefully we will see you all again. Well the season has started and we are ready to make 2008 the best Barn Dance Season ever.

Youth Group at the Barn

abDSCF1288What a great way to get an early start to our season.
We had the pleasure of having a group of students from all over the world here at the Barn on Tuesday May 6. They are all taking courses at Medicine Hat College. We had dance lessons and dancing and then we had a great big dinner. We even got some of them up for the jug band routine. They sure were polite. Thanks to the great staff at Medicine Hat College and we hope the students have a great stay here in Canada. To see more photos click here.

Christmas At The Barn -gcbd-1208

We have been having a great time here the past couple of weekends. Groups from all over Alberta have been attending our Cowboy Christmas Dinner Show. The folks have really been enjoying the show. Turkey consumption is up this year. We figure when all is said and done, we will have served over 1 ton (2000 pounds) of turkey. That's a lot of gravy.
The Whitecappers from Chestermere Lake were here as well as the seniors from Brooks, the seniors from Warner, Len and his group from Coaldale, the Magrath Seniors, Ruth and her group from Stavely, the Glenwood and Hill Spring seniors, the Pelletiers from Calgary and the Coalhurst 55+ Seniors.
Our Cowboy Christmas Balls have been so much fun. We've been skating, paint can curling and sleigh riding with Eddie and his team. Some great folks from China were here this past weekend and I think they had a really good time. They were very nice people. We had the Raymond Jr. High teachers here, as well as the Nielsen family, the Fish Creek Community, Pincher Creek Chinook 4H Multi group, the Village Greenery, the All Smiles Dental Group, the Andersons, and a whole bunch more. We even celebrated Sierra's 3rd birthday here with the Wolfchild family. Lots of cake and presents.
See ya next week.
