June Sleepover Program

JuneSleepoverStudents Invade Barn

A great group of grade 7 kids from the Master's Academy & College in Calgary invaded the the Barn this week. They were a part of our Student Sleepover Program. We started the night with our roast beef dinner followed by canoeing and horsedrawn hay rides. Some of the students even went swimming in our lake. We then went upstairs and taught them some dance moves with our dance instructor Ron Reimann. Then we danced the night away. After the dance we had a traditional prairie desert, Johnny Cake with maple syrup. Once we got them settled down for bed they watched a movie. It had been a long day as they were at the Frank Slide Interpretive Center for their great sleepover program.
We woke them up in the morning for our pancake breakfast, said our good byes as they headed out to Lethbridge to the Galt Museum. We sure had a great time with them and the kids were so polite and freindly. A special thanks to all the leaders who accompanied them on the trip. What a great a group. Have a great summer kids.

May Long Weekend

GCBD 15 May 2009 004

The Beef Is Back!!

What a way to open the season. The Barn was packed. The Good Sams from Lethbridge were here for their annual opening season rally. Michael Sieger and his family from the Royal Executive Inn brought a whole bunch of friends to help open the season with us. Gord, Norma, Brian & Anne from Casterland were here with Noel & Lawrence. We had great revues for the season's first Dinner Show. Everyone loved the new songs and our new singer Erica Smith from Hill Spring.
Lloyd unveiled his new serving carts. They looked incredible and everyone loved the new look in our serving area.
The season has just started and there is a whole lot happening here this year at the Barn. Thank you to everyone who attended on the the weekend. Hope to see you all again this year.
